Petals ****** [ALIGN=LEFT] Petals, I am glad that you brought this topic up. I know that is a touchy one so, I also will be careful about how to I am discussing this topic. I want to discuss this most definitely. I want to know what the world view of the US is. I think that this act is relative to a high school prank or college but is serious because first we are supposed to be the leaders and helping Iraqi people find freedom and rebuild the country to the standards of what we think (the US) is sufficient. Then here we are acting like fools and showing that we are immature and harassing people that we are supposed to be helping. Even if they are prisoners, there's a certain respect that should be contained no matter what. Right now, my reaction to this event that the whole world can see is that I am angry. I am feeling that the world is thinking that Americans are cruel and do things to embarrass other people and that we like to take advantage of people from other nations. I don't know how to express the point that we are supposed to be the responsible party and we are making fools of ourselves. Another thing that upsets me is that President Bush (if he deserves that respect... ) was wrong when he said that he does not represent the military personnel that responsible for these acts. Of course, they represent us... I don't know how to explain it. I agree that mistreatment is not to be handled lightly. Thanks for bringing that topic to light, Noora, and whoever wants to step in on the conversation is more than welcome. The barbarian means which used to expunge them!! An example of this is Americans intentionally infected the blankets of smallpox!!!!And distributed them to Red Indians I've got many friends from America, some of them they are more than friends we promise each other saying the truth even it hurts sometimes. Day after day the media shows many photos of Iraqi prisoners are suffering and agonizing. They were forced to eat pork just to dishonor them. I've read a reasonable essay for American man was publicized in ARABNEWS. Its title (why we are hated) he talked honestly about America but not as Americans know it. America which was brought into wars by men who have never been in any war, and some of them ran away from military service The hatred is increasing toward Americans and you are paying for this hatred with your tax dollars! Do the best you can do in your country to stop all this, send to known newspapers, and do demonstrations. Bring the democracy to life Let Iraqis believe you want the peace for all.
