Abbreviations on the net

In the net ,Many words in English has been written in a different and honestly in the wrong way.

Basically the main reason is to shorten or abbreviate the word, and also it's another way to make the one who reads the message, read it in the writer's own way.

I'm gonna express some of these words, so when you explore the net, you won't stop trying to understand what actually those means.( And you can add some of yours )

They began used in chats, but now those words has crossed over simple messages, and those are spread in groups, like Yahoo and others like that.

First those which uses the first initials like:

LOL : The most famous word, they are the first initials of the sentence Laughing Out Loud.
And strangely now how long you put Os there is how long your laugh would be explained.


ROTFL = Rolling On The Flour Laughing.

BTW = By The Way.

IMO = In My Opinion.

IMHO = In My Humble Opinion.

TTYL = Talk To You Later.

FYI = For Your Information

W/O = Without.

OK, now to those Busy has given you example above.

Using one letter instead of words.

u = you
r = are
So u r would means you are

And ur = yours

y = why

Thanx or tanx = Thanks.

Now another way to shorten the word is using numbers instead of some letters or rewrite it in another way look below

Talal has g2g as got 2 go = the number 2 is instead of to.
u 2 = you to.
Others like

b4 = before.
10x = thanks
gr8 = great
q8 = Kuwait.
And using @ as Talal put , but this only to make the word more shiny, instead the @ is using instead the word (at)
It has the same pronouncing.

Now to another part of the Net lang.

Slang language.

I can't deny preferring the American accent over the British or others.

First it's more easy to spill (pronounce), fast, and more to learn as we all intend to watch American movies and listen to American music.
And you get to hear it in any common dialogue.

Those words has been crossed to the Net, now are written in the way they are pronounced.
Here are some examples:

Wuzz ( wazz) up = means What's up?
Is like saying how are you and what are you doing in another way.

The Wuzz up is used ( pronounced like this ) in some parts of the state.

Common words like:

wanna = want to
gonna = going to
gotta = got to
kinda = kind of
donno = don't know

If you try to pronounce those words fast, u would find saying it as the first part.

Now in music also you will get to see or hear this:
Fallin' = falling.
Goin' = going
Takin' = taking

and the list goes on, as the g is not pronounced in those words.

Here r some words you may ran into:
Ya = you
Ya'all or Y'all = you all.
Remember only reading the word will make you figure it out:

A friend of mine is a dictionary to me, she used to say
hafta = have to
dunno = don't know <-- another way to write this one.
cud'nt = couldn't
c'mon = come on

n = and , like saying R n B = R and B which's the short word of Rhythm And Blues.

Well that's bout it.
I donno whether there are still on my mind or not.
And they are sure not going to end, you'll see each time a different way to write a word, don't feel shy to ask bout it, here, or the one who've wrote it.
It's so better to ask and learn than not to know, maybe it's a swear and u wouldn't know bout!

Whatever, I can dig on groups msgs I got, but it's a painful process when you know there are over 1400 msgs each one is in the digest mode, means each one has bout 25 msg.

So it's a long way ride that I'm not willing to take.lol

You ppl try to put whatever you may notice, so when others get to sail into the net , they wouldn't scratch their heads off.lol
