    Wish You Were Here

So, so you think you can tell

    Heaven from Hell

    Blue skies from pain

Can you tell a green field

    from a cold steel rail

    A smile from a veil

Do you think you can tell

And did they get you to trade

    Your heroes for ghosts

    Hot ashes for trees

Hot air for a cool breeze

    Cold comfort for change

    And did you exchange

a walk-on part in the war

for a lead role in a cage

How I wish, how I wish you were here

We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl

    Year after year

Running over the same old ground

    What have we found

    The same old fears

    Wish you were here

    Ironically, some don't (!)

    And did you exchange

a walk-on part in the war

So, it's either safe or glory.ha.(?)

    Hi Veteran

Those words are so into the blue.

Don't know for whom, but he wonders.

    Touchy.

    Thanks for sharing

You are wrong to think that (I) don't take it personally

After all, it's about (ME) and how (I) look at it

    Salam sister Petals..

“Can you tell a green field from a cold steel rail
    Ironically, some don't (!)”

    Very true..

And If you read this part deeply, you will find out that it’s all about how sometimes it’s really so hard to differentiate between what’s right and what’s wrong. What’s real and what’s fake. When appearances truly reflect a person’s character, and when they’re just a “veil” for a totally different thing.

“And did you exchange a walk-on part in the war for a lead role in a cage
So, it's either safe or glory.ha.(?)”

    In a way, yes..

But I view it a bit differently, it’s more like giving up the role you should be doing in life and you’re good at, for another role that looks fancy, but less important.

And that’s the same message the second part is trying to pass:

Don’t “trade” what matters most with what matters least.

Unfortunately, the message was delivered too late..

“Those words are so into the blue.”

Yes they are, as longs as you “can’t tell”!!

    “Don't know for whom”

I wrote his name at the end.

    “but he wonders.”

Yes, his words are quite amazing..

    “Thanks for sharing”

    Thanks for replying..

    “Nice signature by the way”

    Same writer, same story..

    Salam..

    Wa aleikum essalam

    Pink Floyd (!)

    I should've known.LOL.

    The Wall

And there's a song for them that I do love, but I don't know the name, something like High Hopes, I'm not into tracking them.

Someone told me before that he considers (Abadi Aljohar) as the Arab Pink Floyd.

I was only thinking about a man who can hardly open his eyes (!)

So clearly I didn't get the picture.

I do LOVE so much to know how people exactly react to songs, or any lyrics, the interpretations they provide is priceless, and open your eyes to spaces that was narrowed before.

I get frustrated when they (just) sign in, put a song, and then they just leave.
Yes it may gives you the opportunity to explore it your self.

    But....

    Oh whatever.

I still have another subject with you.

So till then , take care.

    “Pink Floyd (!)”

    It’s about time!

    “The Wall”

Actually, it’s (Wish You Were Here), that’s the name of the album and the song.

“And there's a song for them that I do love, but I don't know the name, something like High Hopes”

Yes, that’s the name of it, and it’s in their last studio album that was released in 1993 (The Division Bell), you probably watched it’s video on TV, that’s the only song you will find for PF on TV, nobody listens to this kind of music anymore, specially teens.

This song is one of my favorites, it has that long amazing melodic guitar solo at the end of it, and the lyrics is great too, but Roger Waters has nothing to do with this album, the band split up in the early 80’s, and the other three members took the name of “Pink Floyd” and produced some albums, and Roger Waters went solo.

    “I'm not into tracking them”

Well, I didn’t expect that you listen to such bands in the first place, but if you like High Hopes, you’re on the right track!!

“Someone told me before that he considers (Abadi Aljohar) as the Arab Pink Floyd.”

I really don’t know how to thank you, this “comment” have just answered one of the most confusing questions in my life!! Now i know why that “man” I saw long ago was performing "3ardah" when he was listening to one of PF’s songs!!!!

“Considers (Abadi Aljohar) as the Arab Pink Floyd” !!

    What a mentality!!

“I still have another subject with you.”

    It’s my next stop..

    “So till then, take care.”

    Yeah, u2..

    [align=left]Hi.

When I mentioned The Wall,I meant "Another Brick In The Wall"

    <<you probably watched it’s video on TV>>

Believe it or not, I don't like watching Videos that much, they kill my idea/feelings of any lyrics.

I saw "Another Brick In The Wall " And yes " High Hopes" and it was inspiring.

<<it has that long amazing melodic guitar solo at the end of it, and the lyrics is great too>>

Yes, Yes, The Guitar takes the song out perfectly.(forever and ever )

<<Well, I didn’t expect that you listen to such bands in the first place, but if you like High Hopes, you’re on the right track!!>>

You'd be surprised of my musical taste.

<< was performing "3ardah" when he was listening to one of PF’s songs!!!! >>

    You gotta be kidding me.

    The 3ardha (?)

    Strange.

    <<What a mentality!! >>

Well, if you like him, then u may at least help me to figure that statement out.lol

Q, Do you know the song A Whiter Shade Of Pale (?)
    I know Anne Lenox version.

Now I have this feeling that others don't actually (like) me coming back.(it's maybe fantasies ) but....

I just hope now that u r not one of them.

If so, then u can simplly ignore this q.

    sorry.

“When I mentioned The Wall,I meant "Another Brick In The Wall"”

My mistake, i thought you thought that “wish you were here” was from the album (The Wall).

“You'd be surprised of my musical taste.”

I’m already surprised that you enjoy songs like “High Hopes”, I don’t know if you listen to songs/bands that go under the same sub genre (progressive rock, space rock, etc..)? Consider it a question..

    “You gotta be kidding me.”

Truly, that’s what I saw, and the song was “Another Brick in the Wall part 2”!!!

    “Well, if you like him,”

    Of course I don’t!!

“then u may at least help me to figure that statement out.lol”

It’s simply “about (THEM) and how (THEY) look at it”.

“Q, Do you know the song A Whiter Shade Of Pale (?)”

No I don’t, but I’m defiantly gonna search for it.

“Now I have this feeling that others don't actually (like) me coming back.(it's maybe fantasies )”

It is fantasies, and here is a much more stranger fantasy from my side: I “feel” that what you just said is only another way of you saying: Veteran, I didn’t “like” your “coming back” in the “other subject”!!!

    How’s that for a fantasy?!!!

“I just hope now that u r not one of them.”

    I’m not..

“If so, then u can simplly ignore this q.”

    Why should I ignore it?!!!

    “sorry.”

    For what?!!!

Anyway, thanks for coming back, and you still owe me a poem in the “other subject”!!!

    [align=left]Now I even feel worst.lol

My fault, But u know how it feels being in the line of fire.

    Any way

<< don’t know if you listen to songs/bands that go under the same sub genre (progressive rock, space rock, etc..)? Consider it a question..>>

    Well mainly I'm into Mariah Carey (!) <-- that's what I meant by surprise.looool

The history between me and that lady is wealthy, Mariah do have lyrics that are stunning, and since this relationship began in 92, u see, now specially, how i understand some people points of view towards their musical tastes.

I do love so many songs from the oldies,in many genres,
So I can't tell you exactly what or give you a name, it would be kinda unfair.

    <<Of course I don’t!!>>

    Ok, that explains it.lol

<<It’s simply “about (THEM) and how (THEY) look at it”.>>

Aha, and u can see how I respect that, though I don't like the man.

A Whiter Shade of Pale is a song from the 60s.
One of the most funniest comment I've heard, is since it's a 60s song then they may were high when they wrote it.

I knew it first via Anne Lennox in the 90s, I fell inlove w/it at first listen.
Then I discovered that the lyrics is much longer than the one in the song.
What makes the song more value is using one of Bach's symphony (!)

But I can only say Wow.

    Here's the lyrics.( long)

<<It is fantasies, and here is a much more stranger fantasy from my side: I “feel” that what you just said is only another way of you saying: Veteran, I didn’t “like” your “coming back” in the “other subject”!!!>>

One thing for sure, I can come back till forever, specially in subjects I love.
But as I said it's a matter of feeling unwelcome, I can be a pain in the.... sometimes.loool

And no, u are more than welcome to jump any subject, time u like.

    <<How’s that for a fantasy?!!!>>

    I guess we are even,ha.lol

    Sorry for the inconvenient.

<<Anyway, thanks for coming back, and you still owe me a poem in the “other subject”!!!>>

    Aha, no.

I'll put all other poems in one subject that simply called "Wisława Szymborska "

    Thanks

    [align=left]Hi again

    I forgot

Here're the lyrics for A Whiter Shade of Pale

The one in Blue is the one that not included in Anne's nor Sarah Brighton (Brightman) versions.

    We skipped the light fandango
    turned cartwheels 'cross the floor
    I was feeling kinda seasick
but the crowd called out for more
    The room was humming harder
    as the ceiling flew away
When we called out for another drink
    the waiter brought a tray

And so it was that later
as the miller told his tale
that her face, at first just ghostly,
turned a whiter shade of pale
She said, 'There is no reason
and the truth is plain to see.'
But I wandered through my playing cards
and would not let her be
    one of sixteen vestal virgins
who were leaving for the coast
and although my eyes were open
they might have just as well've been closed

She said, 'I'm home on shore leave,'
though in truth we were at sea
so I took her by the looking glass
    and forced her to agree
saying, 'You must be the mermaid
who took Neptune for a ride.'
But she smiled at me so sadly
    that my anger straightway died

If music be the food of love
    then laughter is its queen
and likewise if behind is in front
then dirt in truth is clean
My mouth by then like cardboard
seemed to slip straight through my head
    So we crash-dived straightway quickly
    and attacked the ocean bed

And as I've said they've used Bach ("Air on the G String from the "Suite No. 3 in D Major") in the music.

Line of fire???!!! What are u talking about?? You don’t have to answer.

    “Well mainly I'm into Mariah Carey (!) <-- that's what I meant by surprise.looool”

    That’s another surprise!
I listened to a couple of songs for Mariah long ago, but she gave me no reason to continue. I don’t know, maybe it’s the songs I listened to, or maybe we just simply didn’t connect..

    “Ok, that explains it.lol”

loooool, It’s really not about liking him or not, but PF and (Abadi) have nothing in common; which makes the comment really strange. That’s all what I’m saying.

“A Whiter Shade of Pale is a song from the 60s.”

I read the lyrics, it’s really something.

“One of the most funniest comment I've heard, is since it's a 60s song then they may were high when they wrote it.”

    Loooool, it’s a possibility..

“I'll put all other poems in one subject that simply called "Wisława Szymborska"”

I’ve been there already, thanks again.

Kol sana o ente taiba Petals..
